Ushbu maqolada Birinchi jahon urushidan keyingi davr adabiyotida shakllangan “Yo‘qotilgan avlod” vakillarining ruhiyatidagi o‘tmishga bo‘lgan nostalgik intilishlar tadqiq etiladi. F.S.Fitsjerald va E. Heminguey asarlari misolida qahramonlarning post-traumatik holati, ularning real voqelikdan qochib, o‘tmishni ideallashtirishi psixologik va komparativistik jihatdan tahlil qilinadi. Getsbi va Frederik Genri obrazlari orqali “o‘tmishni qaytarish” va “vaqtni to‘xtatish” kabi ekzistensial urinishlarning fojiaviy yakuni yoritib berilgan.
